Natural or Supernatural Disaster

Filed under: General — Ryan Nellis @ 1:06 pm

The earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan are no joke. The unmerciful power that Gaia wields continues to put Homo sapiens in their place. Those that have been wiped away will be reborn anew, if you believe our spirits continue. Make your destiny count.

Three days hitting the convention floor, hookin’ new friends and fans of Moot. Great show. Less people than Wondercon only made for more time to connect with all the great folks who stopped by and got stoked with a free copy of Moot Mag in print. Lucky people when Moot blows up. They got something special, something special in my eyes. Time for us all to start MOOOTING really hard. The Moot Mag is free online here at http://www.mootmagmovie.com. Can’t beet that! Just gotta READ that, take the adventure without fear.

Boa Babes Dancing

Filed under: Comic,Digital Media Arts,General,Magazine,Moot,Paranormal,Sci-fi — Ryan Nellis @ 2:49 pm

Terrestrial females stepping, lunging, twirling, undulating, flesh galore in pink boas. I’m a lucky guy to have these magical women expressing their sensuality for loved ones last night at my lady, Cindera Che’s Boa Me Beautiful. Spirits were radiating and libidos were pulsing red hot. Everyone left on high energy and personal growth. There is mystical power in expressing yourself through movement. Not sure what the charts say, but I’ve been connected to dance since ever since UCLA – I thank Cory Taylor and Dean Warman for that… POD – Precious Object of Desire – a UCLA Fine Arts collaborative performance, with my projected visuals. Feels like yesterday.

There was a dude at the Boa event named Arty – a psychic – http://personology.com philosophy, great guy, more to explore for Moot, he nearly burst my brain with cool info.

Key Words coming out my bum…

Filed under: Comic,General,Magazine,Moot,Paranormal,Sci-fi — Tags: , , , , — Ryan Nellis @ 11:30 am

Spent way long researching key words. Launching a couple of new strategies for SEO. Ad Words could get expensive. Wondercon forms to be cranked. Looking forward to copy coming in from new writers for the mag.

Got an interview coming up with a girl who’s been having erotic encounters with some sort of being… alien, spirit, or God, we’ll have to see. Anything is possible of course. Gotta capture the act in camera.

Dancing Fairy

Prior to sitting down my insistent 8 year old laid down some artsy moves under the beams of desk lights. My mind wanders in and out of the mag. A fairy becomes the next order of business. Photoshop, using shapes, too difficult with a full moon – the brightest of the month. The future shines in all that we create, it’s gonna be pencil to paper, my father would be proud.

Who’s weird and creepy?

Filed under: Comic,General,Magazine,Moot,Paranormal,Sci-fi — Tags: , , — Ryan Nellis @ 1:39 pm

Had a couple of interesting conversations yesterday.

The first was about an email inadvertently sent to me exclaiming what a creepy person I was for having created Moot… and for casting Asian women including my wife… thank you big K.

Another with producer, director, writer- Steve Skrovan of Unreasonable Man, proved to be a great exchange of following our individual artistic dreams. Of course I hoped he wanted to become a partner in Moot. No such luck, he’s tapped with his own vision – a new film starring Fred Stroller.

The last conversation was with super edgy publisher and writer Robert Rhine who’s mag Girls and Corpses should be collected by MOMA and MOCA. He’ll be a WonderCon, we worked on Problem Child a million years ago. His mag is definitely a bizarre mix of entertainment…. http://www.girlsandcorpses.com. And people think I’m weird…

Moot Meme

Read the article in Wired on Ben Huh, been wonderin’, huh?… what would be a Moot meme… a lolmoot, lolmooter, I me mooter, endless possibilities to explore. How will it be interpreted, to create the desire for consumption, replication, mootification… time will tell.

Rain Rain Keep Me Powered

No power for 15 hours yesterday kept progress at a near stand still. After we all went to bed it was so quite, so peaceful. Until my daughter woke up cold, really cold as I could see my breath. In the living room the windows were glazed over and there seemed to be something, an image of someone, a face and then it went away. I’ve been here 15 years and this place never seems to amaze me at what manifests that’s unexplainable.

Today, lots gotta happen, Moot gotta keep rising.

Spirits creaking, Sunday rainy Sunday

Working at the computer, living at the computer, family running around, then gone to sleep. I’ve heard odd noises that just don’t jibe with the normal living occupants of our 1920’s building. Sometimes I’m motivated by the creepiness – it confirms on on the right path. Other times it scares the shit out of me.

Emailing, personalizing, asking for mooterific support. And we are getting it. Yet we need lots more.

Viral

What does it take to get your ideas to go viral. I’m anticipating a bunch of work, relentless mooting, and finding the right audience.

I’ve got good classes this quarter with a seemingly great bunch of students. I look forward to seeing what they come up with. A few will even be creating Mooter Portraits.
